There is entirely too much white in this room for me. Where's the color?! Where's the art on the wall? That being said, ohmygoodness those wooden roof beams! How marvelous are they? And I'm also really enjoying the open layout of the room.

First week of school.
This has been a hectic first week of school and will continue to be a hectic semester. 26 work hours + 18 credit hours, here we come. But thankfully for the survival of this blog I'm studying Textiles & Merchandising and Interior Design which means school jams lots of information into my brain concerning interiors, apparel, and textiles in general. One of the more interesting classes I'm in is "Clothing in Modern Society". Yeah. I get to study fashion within the world. Super pumped. Another one is Textile Industry and Environment. Where we'll be learning about how to keep textiles "green" and what goes into a lot of manufacturing processes for the fabric used in fashion and furniture. In light of that, everyone should take this quiz: http://www.earthday.org/footprint-calculator Its quite enlightening on how the simple choices you make throughout the day, like just buying meat can have huge affects on the earth.
Since I've missed inspiration photos for the past few days here's some to make up for that:

I love these shadow box sort of desks. Perfect way to show a little personality in the home.

The Homes of "Modern Family".
I am a HUGE "Modern Family" fan. Here's the link for the article: http://shine.yahoo.com/at-home/homes-abc-8217-modern-family-163800896.html It shows all the sets for the homes and some insight from the set designer. It's really interesting so check it out! If your too lazy here's just a taste of some of the rooms.

Where is this going?
So I've realized this blog is really sporadic. I'll post a ton and then not post for weeks. But all the good blogs don't do that. They have "Makeup Monday" or "Turquoise Tuesday". Ya know, things you go to look up on those specific days, things that make you go there. How many people go to PostSecret every Sunday because they know it's new post day? I'd wager A LOT. Life catches up with you and I'm about to embark on a very intense semester which means I can't leave my blogging up to "whenever I have time". Because my time is going to be very limited. So I've decided this is what I'm going to attempt to do:
- Everyday, I can promise an inspirational photo. No muss, no fuss. Just a pretty photo of a pretty room that I find inspiring
- Résidence de l'imaginaire update every weekend. (The day depends on when I work)
- At least one other blog post a week. (D.I.Y, tips, etc) Again, I'm not sure my work schedule and I'm not sure which school days will be lighter homework wise so a specific day I'll have to figure out later.

Some of the artwork on my walls
It's a Traaaaap! (For Starwars nerds only)
I was having trouble coming up with something to do when we first started this process in printmaking, I asked Rhanden (boyfriend) what to do and he said a robot. So this is what I got
A stencil print I made. Beauty from Pain is the saying by which I want to live my life
Below: Audrey Tattou (who I get told quite often I look like). A wood carving
Bedroom Makeover!
My landlord gave me permission to paint my room (as I said in a previous post) and I finally got pictures up and everything put together at least somewhat presentably. So here is some a photo bomb of my bedroom and bathroom. My lovely boyfriend decided to use my nice camera and not re-charge the battery so I'm truly sorry for the bad photo quality.
I would like to state that all artwork on the walls was done by me except for the Banksy print above my bed.
Above: I made this hanging lamp myself. I'll do a D.I.Y. for that soon.
Below: I found this beautiful vanity/desk at a thrift store for $15! It was originally an awful purple but I painted it my favorite color, turquoise. Which I think makes it look all retro and awesome.
Above: My condom collection from England. (Hey, I'm in college. We think this shit is hilarious)
Below: The pictures right of my mirror/desk.
