Gray! Gray is a completely under-appreciated color. It's neutral without being as bland as white. As a poor college student who has only enough money to rent, one has to get use to white walls. Bleck. I love white as an accent color and if done right, it can look ok on walls. But it's so boring! Maybe it's just more frustrating because we can't do anything about it, we have no power to change the walls. Either way, I'm totally diggin' gray. It goes with everything, isn't in your face, and is neutral. Here's some pictures to show you what I mean.
Above: This was designed by the Heather Garrett Design team. Notice that there aren't any accent colors in the room. They're all neutrals. But the gray wall offsets all the whites. Plus! Textures! There's a lot of different textures going on here and that makes it more interesting and keeps the neutral colors from being too bland. Seriously, the more I look at this room the more I'm falling in love with it.
More gray walls! Both the above and below photo's I found on Tumblr. But I couldn't find the original source, bummer. Anyways, gray walls and colors!

Let me be frank. I'm a sucker for turquoise. It's my favorite. Of all time. The turquoise retro fridge? Amazing. What else am I sucker for? Peacock feathers. There's so many different elements in here that I love. The gray walls accent off the old woods and retro colors in a way that plan white or even cream couldn't. It's the perfect way to have bigger accessories, (in this case the fridge, chandelier, old wooden cupboards) and balance those elements out. Also, how genius is a chandelier in the kitchen?

I thoroughly enjoy bring outdoor elements inside, the tree wall decals are lovely! There's a lot of gray in this room but I don't feel like it overpowers anything. The patterns in the pillows! I think that's something that we can take away from gray. It gives you like free range to use shiny textures (like the first picture) or a wide range of patterns (like the pillows below).

There's not a ton of gray in this picture but I just wanted to show how lovely yellow and gray look together. It's a combo made in heaven.
Well! It's my first blog spot! Hopefully it wasn't too redundant or anything. I'm getting pretty excited about this so I hope you guys like it. And think about putting some gray in your house.
